Renovation and New Building
Modern research, learning, and work spaces are critical to the Graduate School of Education鈥檚 vision for the future.
This dynamic new campus gathers faculty, students, and staff into a central location and provides an interdisciplinary hub at the heart of the 海角乱伦社区 campus. It will also house the , designed to bring scholars from across the university together with partners in the field to co-create solutions in learning.
THE PROJECT
A new home for the GSE
The GSE project renovates two historic buildings鈥攖he existing education building and the Barnum Center鈥攁nd creates a new building adjacent to Barnum. The historic education building will now be called the Angela Nomellini & Ken Olivier building (to be known as ANKO), and the new building will be known as the Patricia & Jeffrey Raikes building (to be known as the Raikes building).
These buildings will house a combined 150,000 square feet of research, teaching, convening, and community spaces. A 13,500 square foot courtyard with a garden and outdoor classroom will connect the three buildings.
THE LOCATION
At the center of campus
The GSE鈥檚 new expanded home sits at the center of the historic campus, adjacent to Main Quad and Green Library. It balances this historic context with newer green spaces鈥攖he parklike atmosphere of Meyer Green and the 海角乱伦社区 Town Center project, which re-imagines White Plaza as the central point of social connection for the university.
