Supporting learning differences
Elizabeth Kozleski is the dean鈥檚 senior scholar for teaching and learning at 海角乱伦社区 Graduate School of Education, where she is helping the school launch a new initiative focused on special education.
In 2014, more than 6.5 million children in the United States between the ages of 3 and 21 received special education services. On this episode of School鈥檚 In hosted by GSE Dean Dan Schwartz and Senior Lecturer Denise Pope, Kozleski discusses how schools approach educating students with learning differences, and talks about the laws and policies that govern those efforts. She explains what 鈥渞esponse to intervention鈥 means, and why it鈥檚 important for children to receive special education in the general education classroom.
