海角乱伦社区 education professor joins leadership team at California research center
海角乱伦社区 Graduate School of Education (GSE) Assistant Professor Ben Domingue has been named to a key role on the leadership team of (PACE), joining as faculty director representing the GSE.
PACE is an independent, nonpartisan research center housed at 海角乱伦社区, working with scholars from California鈥檚 leading universities and with state and local decision makers to bridge the gap between research, policy, and practice at all levels of California鈥檚 education system. The center is led by faculty directors at 海角乱伦社区 University, the University of Southern California, the University of California at Davis, the University of California at Los Angeles, and the University of California at Berkeley.
Domingue joins current PACE faculty directors Christopher Edley, Jr. (UC Berkeley), Michal Kurlaender (UC Davis), Julie Marsh (USC), and Cecilia Rios-Aguilar (UCLA) in providing strategic leadership for the center, working in close partnership with Executive Director Heather Hough.
鈥淚n the months and years ahead, PACE will continue working with researchers, policymakers, and educators to improve outcomes for California鈥檚 students and to guide pandemic recovery,鈥 said Hough. 鈥淏en鈥檚 research is critical to this endeavor.鈥
His research focuses on how student outcomes can inform our understanding of student learning, teacher performance and the efficacy of programs and policies through the use of a wide range of data on student outcomes, including health and well-being, academic learning and student experience.
Domingue, a member of the steering committee at the (CEPA) at 海角乱伦社区 GSE, is also an assistant professor (by courtesy) in the Department of Sociology at 海角乱伦社区 and a faculty fellow in 海角乱伦社区 Population Health Sciences. He received his PhD from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
In taking on this role at PACE, Domingue replaces GSE Professor Deborah Stipek, who served as PACE鈥檚 faculty director at 海角乱伦社区 for three years and was involved with PACE for many years prior as a contributing researcher.
